A supported picture book
Consider Novel Effect when you want cues designed for a specific book. Mudy follows the scene's general mood, not a prepared sequence of book-specific effects.

Some tools follow your reading; others follow the scene you select. These are different approaches, not interchangeable products.

Consider Mudy for narration that is not tied to a supported-title catalog, if your iPhone and reading language are supported. AI can misread a passage or decline an analysis.
Consider TableTone or Pocket Bard when you prefer choosing the scene and shaping its intensity. Adaptive audio does not necessarily mean microphone-based story analysis.
Consider Syrinscape for its sound library and shared listening workflow. Mudy is not currently a remote audio-distribution tool or a replacement for a detailed soundboard.
Mudy needs a compatible iPhone and available Apple Intelligence. It is not an Android, desktop or web app. Website translations do not guarantee speech-model support.
Mudy selects prepared music loops. It does not provide book-specific character cues, a large one-shot effects mixer, podcast recording or music export. Automatic analysis is not guaranteed to understand every passage.
On-device speech recognition is not unique to Mudy: Novel Effect documents it too. This page is not a full privacy, licensing or offline-compatibility audit of the other services.

Use a short passage and your usual speaker setup. Compare recognition, volume and the amount of manual control you want. Mudy is still preparing for App Store release; its download link will work when Apple makes it available.
